About us:
Welcome to the Wigan Flower Club Website. Its a pleasure to give you information about our club.
We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at St. Michael's Parish Hall, Shaw Street, Swinley area of Wigan. WN1 2BD at 7.15pm. In January we meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month.
At these meetings we have demonstrations of fresh flowers by qualified demonstrators from the National Association of Flower Arrangers. The arrangements are raffled at the end of the evening.
We have secured funding from Wigan Council to hold FREE Flower Arranging Workshops in September and October, this will mean FREE Flowers and FREE containers with No charges to attend. The workshops will be held in Wigan in Scholes, Swinley, Hindley and Pemberton and have been well received. We had approximately 140 people attending , this has resulted in over 45 visitors in Oct/Nov and 9 new members to date.
2013 we will celebrate our Golden Anniversary, details to follow soon.
Our New Chairman Jennifer Halliwell, the Committee, members and friends of the club enjoy the companionship of spending an evening with others of like minded interests, as is proved by the lively and cheerful chatter prior to the Demonstation.
43 of our members went to Hoghton Towers and Magical Fairy Tales. Members, under the leadership of Joan Robinson created 'ALADDIN' and a fabulous display in Gold . Well done team, you did us proud
At the meetings you can visit our Publications Table and get the Flower Arranger Magazine at a reduced rate. We also have a Trash & Treasure stall.including containers donated by members.
We invite you to visit us and see for yourself. If you wish to become a member we would make you very welcome. So whether you enjoy arranging flowers or just like to watch others this is the place for you.
We are looking forward to a full and varied programme in the coming months.
