The North West Area Photographic Competition - 2010
Class 1

Seasonal Symphony

  A colour print
Class 2 Silhouette
  A black & white/sepia print
Class 3 Discovery
  A close-up print
Class 4 Without limits
 

A digital print which has been manipulated. A 6" x 4" print of the original must be included with the entry

Class 5 Celebrate a Season
  A colour print (Junior class - age to be stated on entry)
Class 6 Golden Celebration
  A design for a greetings card, maximum size 8" x 6" in any medium

With the exception of Class 6 (Greeting Card) images must no larger than 10" x 8" (25 x 20cm) and mounted with overall dimension not exceeding 12" x 10" (30 x 25 cm)

The following details must be attached to or written on the back of each mounted photograph:

·      Entrants submitting photographs of floral exhibits should acknowledge the arranger or state wheter the exhibit is the photographer’s own work.
·      The Judge’s decision is final.
·      All photographs must have been taken by the competitor.
·      If you require your entries to be returned, please enclose a stamped and addressed envelope or a label with sufficient stamps to return the material, without this, they will not be returned.
·      Every care will be taken but Area cannot accept any responsibility for loss, damage or delay to entries. Proof of postage cannot be accepted as proof of delivery.
·      Prizes will be distributed at the Annual General Meeting on Monday 1st November 2010
·      Marks and Spencer vouchers will be awarded to the first place winners. Best in Show will receive the North West Area Trophy

·         Use hard-backed envelopes if possible
·         Separate photographs with tissue paper or similar
·         Ensure that the cardboard is larger than the mounted photograph is inserted in padded or plain envelopes
·         Any writing must be on the back of the mount
·         On no account use paper clips, staples, etc.
·         Digital imaging is permitted but no manipulation is allowed except in Class 4
·         Beware of using adhesive tape in large quantities – masking tape is safer for yours and others’ entries

Harrogate Spring Show, 23rd -25th April. Congratulations those who had successful entries, well done to Sue Wareing for bringing back the colour trophy.
 
Carlisle Spring show,2nd- 3rd May was very successful, an excellent amount of entries
